Behind the Scenes

The Company of Four is always on the lookout for new talent in all areas, not just on the stage. The cast on stage would have nothng if it wasn't for the "Backroom Boys & Girls". From the outset, a large team work together to put the show on. There are many areas within the company, for which a show wouldn't be possible without their hard work and dilligence. To give you some idea, here is a list of peoples jobs that need doing before the curtains open on the first night.

Producer - Brings everyone and everything together.

Director - Directs the show you see on stage.

Musical Director - They co-ordinate the music and singing.

Choreographers - The Ladies & Gentlemen who teach the dancing.

Stage Manager - The person in charge of the running of the show when its underway.

Script Writers - Wondered where that funny line in a panto comes from?!

Production Designer - Deals with designing the set and staging.

Scenery Builders - Builders of the set.

Costumes - Probably the most important role, as you need to be dressed properly on stage!

Properties - The stage decorations or Props that cast use, need to be made or found.

Lighting - To be able to see the show, you need alot of lights, and the company uses LOTS!

Sound - A show needs top quality sound to make everyone sound good!

Radio Microphones - Actors & Singers need these, to dispense with handheld microphones.

Stage Crew - To move the scenery about and set it for the next scene.

Publicty - Tickets for any show would not sell if they weren't advertised.

Front of House Staff - The Ladies & Gentlemen who sell the programmes and Welcomes you

  to the show.

Programme - The content needs to be gathered and produced into a booklet and sent for

  printing.

Children Chaperones - The younger members of the cast need proper supervision throughout

  the week and this is a major task organising the paper work.
